Benbowopka Treatment Centre celebrates grand opening with $23.5 million in federal support

The Benbowopka Treatment Centre (BTC) is proud to celebrate the grand opening of its new facility on July 22, 2026. The opening marks a significant step forward for Indigenous-led healing and wellness services in Northern Ontario. The Government of Canada supported the project with $23.5 million. BTC provides culturally grounded, land-based healing that brings together traditional Anishinaabe teachings and clinical approaches to address trauma, substance use and related challenges. These approaches help relatives reconnect with their spirit, culture, the land and the relationships that support their journey to wellness.
